i have thick curly ringlet hair. I love it when i have straight hair but i am scared of getting it chemicaly straighting. One because i am affrarid of over damaging my hair. And the other thing is the cost is it really expencive. Plus how long does it last and is it worth it?

it depends on what you do... i got a professional relaxer and it didn't work any better than the store bought system i used later. however, i have heard of thermal and japanese hair straightening... i havn't used either because they will most likely be about 600$, and i would much rather for that price just spend 20 minutes a day straightening my hair : )

Get the Con Air Ceramic Flat Iron. It costs $60.00;but it's worth it in the long run. It also comes with a five year warren tee.

Go to a cosmetologist and have her/him give you a consult, most are free, then make an informed decision

PLEASE DON"T DO IT!!!! Mine was ruined by this!!! I now have short chopped up layered hair due to having to get all the damage cut out, and I ended up with partial hair extensions as it grows back out. DON"T EVER get hair chemically straightened. I even used that new chi permanent straightener method. BAD!!!

Don't do it. I am not sure what you are referring to. If you are talking about the traditional "perm", don't do it - you have to get touch ups about every 8 weeks - if your lucky. Then there is the Japanese version of hair straightening whichis supposed to be very good - and initially it is. You can wash your hair and go - there is no setting or blowdrying involved. It lasts about 6 months. HOWEVER when your hair is growing in it looks AWFUL and your curly locks will never curl the same way again. Not to mention that it is VERY expensive - about $500 - depending on the lenght of your hair.

Good luck.

I have curly hair too. I wear it straight most of the time, and I know the hassle that goes into it. I also love being able to go back to curly anytime. You want what you don't have. Women with straight hair wish it was curly. If you really hate your curly hair, and you are sure that you want it straight all the time then I think you should try it. It shouldn't damage it too much if a professional does it.
