my hair is naturally really curly, and ive gotten my hair dyed, highlighted, and lowlighted before... you dont need straight hair for streaks or color, either one can look pretty with curly hair too. as for what color looks the best, it depends on your skin tone, natural hair color, and your own style. for dyeing your hair, at first i would go with a color fairly close to your natural one- maybe a shade or two darker or lighter. and for highlights, i would just start out with maybe a few subtle flecks or streaks. you sound a little unsure, so its probably best not to do anything drastic. if you like the results, you can always get more. also talk to your hair stylist for suggestions.

If you go with highlights, the pattern should be bits that are thicker than on straight hair. I do not mean "stripes" though. If you "weave" in curly hair it just diffuses all together is not very noticeable. Best of luck.
