Does anybody know any GOOD products to make my hair curly?

im thinking of getting a perm, but i dont want to ruin my hair and i dont want to have curly hair all the time, i jsut want it once in a while. i made an appointment for my perm for tomorrow, im having second thoughts, and dont want to get it from reading what people have said aboutperms, i have straight hair, with bairly and wave in it, i realllly want it more wavy or curly, iv tried everythinggg, doing braids, curling it with the curling iron and nothing works, help?

the only way to make hair curly is permanent, hence the name. it actually changes the structure of the hair by opening the cuticle (or outer part of the shaft). you're right to think twice about a perm, they can go really badly. but they can go really nicely as well. i had this last one done a year and a half ago and everyone thinks i have naturally curly hair. she used two different sizes of rods, a larger and the next one down. when i want straight hair, i blow it straight and use a straightening iron. no problem. there are no products that are good for your hair and will cause it to have some wave. that's the best they can do, make it easier to curl, or hold a curl better. but they all do some damage to your hair. a perm is somewhat damaging, but if it's done right it shouldn't lead to any sort of problems. condition, condition, condition.
